Anlass war der Jahrestag der Deportationen vom Mai 1940, bei denen Rom:nja und Sinti:ze von drei St\u00e4dten aus (Hamburg, K\u00f6ln und Hohenasperg bei Stuttgart) in das deutsch besetzte Polen deportiert worden waren, wo sie in Ghettos leben und Zwangsarbeit verrichten mussten.<\/p>\n

Die Gedenkveranstaltung fand an der Gedenktafel des ehemaligen Messelagers statt, wo die Menschen vor der Deportation aus K\u00f6ln festgehalten worden waren.<\/p>\n

Ca. 30 Menschen nahmen an der Gedenkveranstaltung teil, bei der B\u00fcrgermeister Ralf Heinen (SPD), Ru\u017edija Sejdovi\u0107 (Rom e.V.), Tino Schneeberger (Vereinigung der Sinti und Roma f\u00fcr Mensch und Rechte K\u00f6ln e.V.) und Wolfgang Uellenberg-van Dawen (EL-DE Haus Verein) kurze Reden hielten.<\/p>\n

F\u00fcr Musik sorgte die Band Jankovic.<\/p>\n
